Gala Information

The Women’s Gala, themed “Shaped by the Past, Empowered by the Future,” will take place on March 27 at the Creativity Center from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. The event, organized by multiple IE University clubs—including the Women Business Club, Girls Up, Charity Club, Music Club, Photography Club, Fashion Club, The Stork and Creative Writing Club—seeks to celebrate women while addressing themes of heritage, culture, and gender.

Tickets are priced at 10 euros, with registration available on IE Connects. Organizers promise a night filled with exciting animations, offering attendees a chance to have fun while reflecting on the power of women’s experiences.

While no official dress code has been announced, Maja Alessandra Prokopiuk, president of the IE Charity Club in Segovia, encouraged attendees to include an element  of their own culture into their attire.

“We want to highlight and bring back cultural elements that we sometimes forget,” Prokopiuk said.

The meaning behind it

In celebration of Women’s History Month, this gala aims to foster meaningful conversations about current issues.

“There’s bias and discrimination that continues to persist, and we wanted to provide a platform for people to express themselves on this important topic,” said Souane Mazou-Houel, president of the IE Women Business Club Segovia.

The theme of the event was carefully chosen to emphasize the connection between past experiences and future empowerment.

“You can feel empowered in the future because your experiences shape you, allowing you to be who you are and impact others through what you’ve been through,” said Klaudia Kupidura, president of the IE Girls Up Club Segovia.

The evening will also serve as a fundraiser for FEMUR, la Federación Española de la Mujer Rural, an organization dedicated to supporting rural women in Spain by promoting labor equality and social, political, and economic freedom. All funds raised through ticket sales and event activities will be donated to this cause.

Photography and creative writing competition

In addition to the gala, a creative competition will take place, featuring categories in photography, creative writing, and a combined photography and creative writing category. Participants are encouraged to submit their work by March 16 at 11:59 p.m. The contest’s theme mirrors that of the gala, providing artists with a platform to share their personal stories through their creations.

IE University professors will judge the entries, with winners announced during the event. Top winners will receive exciting prizes related to their chosen categories.

Submissions for the contest—whether in creative writing, photography, or women’s empowerment—are open until 11:59 p.m. on March 16. Works can be submitted via this form

“We wanted to highlight those differences that shape us and can also serve as a powerful form of leverage,” said Prokopiuk, emphasizing the importance of showcasing diversity and empowerment through art.
