Hallow’s Eve

Every October there comes a day,

Where all inhibition just fades away.

There, at dusk, you can change who you are,

Even if it’s into something truly bizarre.

Some people choose a radical change,

Going for lions and witches, even the undead.

Some people choose to bring back to life

People whose works have been left behind.

Some people choose to transform into gods,

finding the heroes we all thought we’d lost.

And others yet decide on becoming

Someone who people will think is quite charming.

But what does it mean, on this Hallow’s Eve

Where you could be anyone you wished to be,

What does it mean to keep on deciding

“I’ll simply be me”?
